YAY!  Aaron and I were able to experience the most wonderful thing so far this morning.  We heard our baby’s heartbeat, going strong, and then we SAW him/her!  I have never felt relieved, proud, excited, scared, and joyous….all at the same time!!  This whole experience became extremely real to me today and I am completely beside myself!  Dr. Farnia could not tell what the sex was, but said he should be able to at our next appoitment July 2nd.  I will keep you posted!

In the meantime, Mike and Rachel, our friends from Virginia Beach, are coming in this weekend.  We have some fun “Texas” activities planned for the weekend.  Here is a pic of Baby Bulkley….to be named soon!

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Cinco de mayo

Well, no ice cold dos equis or slushy margaritas for me this 5th day of May, a day on which we celebrate the libation, I mean liberation, of Mexico.  I can’t remember the last time I was able to say that!  :o(  Oh well, I am sure that all of my friends will have one, or two, or three for me! :o)  I can always count on them!

On another note, Aaron and I went to the Dr this morning.  I was hoping we would hear the heartbeat, but all the Dr. could hear was my gas….ah the joys of being pregnant (that nobody tells you about before!)  Anyway, he said everything was fine, took a bunch of blood, and sent us on our way for 4 more weeks.  I do not have a preggo belly yet, but my clothes do not fit anymore, it just looks like I need to lay off the donuts, which sucks because I have only gained the one pound that I lost in the first two weeks!  Oh well, here we go!  Second trimester starts May 14th…..let’s go!

Big Changes in Baby Bulkley!

Today marks a big milestone in Baby Bulkley’s tiny life. At 9 weeks today, it has graduated from an embryo to a fetus! Apparently it is moving more and more every day, however it is still way too tiny for me to feel these movements. I go to the dr on May 5th and am anticipating hearing the heartbeat on the fetal doppler! I am still super tired ALL of the time, and my house is definitely suffering from this lack of energy. People keep telling me I will have super woman energy in the second trimester, which can’t come soon enough on May 14th. I hope to catch up on everything I have been slacking on the last few weeks.
Aaron and I went to San Antionio last week when he returned from Augusta and stayed down on the Riverwalk. We had a nice relaxing time, strolling along the river, through the Alamo, and room service in bed by 9 o’clock…..boy how our vacations have changed! :o) We went to the Spurs game, which was AWESOME, Finley hit a 3 at the buzzer, right in front of us to tie the game. Of course the Spurs won in overtime.
On another note, we are staying busy with hunters in every weekend. They have been shooting some strange animals lately, but hey, whatever they want to pay for right?!
xoxo

Have You Heard the News?

We are having a baby!

We found out a couple of weeks ago, and most people know, but I wanted to wait a little longer to broadcast it on my blog….I didn’t make it very long!  :-) I went to the dr for the 2nd time yesterday and I am officially 6 weeks and 6 days (ok just call it 7 weeks) along.  They did an ultrasound and found the heartbeat pumping away at 122 bpm.  EVERY girlfriend of mine has told me that a lower heart rate, such as 122, means that we will be having a boy.  I was really looking forward to pink camo, but I kinda think regular camo is in our future.  I have even caught myself saying “he” quite a bit.  It just feels better that calling it “it”!  I honestly do not care if it is a boy or a girl, as long as the pregnancy is healthy, followed by a healthy baby.

Oh, great news, I lost 1 pound from last visit when I first found out till now!  I am pretty sure it is due to lack of beer in my diet.  Plus I am trying to eat healthier.  I feel great most of the time, with exception of being extremely exhausted all of the time and sometimes a little queesy.

Here is the picture, although you can’t see anything but the sac….eewww.  I had great pictures with the ultrasound lady, but for some odd reason she refused to print one for me…..booooo.
